Last week brought the return of Bart Allen and Connor Kent. Geoff Johns simply could not go on as a writer without these two characters it seems. The best part is that Superboy (we can call him that now, legally, it’s okay) is being given “Adventure Comics” as his new vehicle (written by Johns) and will also co-star the Legion of Super-Heroes. In an interview with Newsarama Johns said “the book is in the same vein as Gary Frank’s and my Action Comics run. Accessible, bright, dangerous and open.” This makes me a giddy giddy man-child.
Bart will be sticking around in the 21st century as you can already see in Flash: Rebirth. Even though they have “de-matured” him, I’m happy to see him back if anything because he was co-created by the late Mike Wieringo and his “death” was a little bit of a whimper. I’m still wondering what the chances are that Geoff Johns is going to find a way to pluck Max Mercury from the speed force before this summer is up (If he dosen’t turn up as a Black Lantern instead).
